AFTER years of shunning home shores, the recession made staycations – as they were dubbed – trendy again. And, 60 years on, Spain remains the top choice, though it’s city breaks rather than beach holidays. Yet despite online booking freedoms, 53% of us still opt for the security of a package deal.
We now spend £1,300 each on our big summer holiday – almost £800 on accommodation and the remainder on spending money.
