DUFFY IS A ROLE MODEL!

SCOTLAND’S longest-serving manager, Peterhead boss Jim McInally, reckons the SFA should take no action against Morton manager Jim Duffy.

Duffy is facing an SFA probe after an angry clash with Hibs boss Neil Lennon in midweek.

McInally reckons that Hampden compliance officer, Tony McGlennan, should let the Cappielow gaffer off as he is a role model for other managers and has never found himself in trouble before.

“Jim has been a manager for more than 20 years and he has had an impeccable record throughout that time,” said McInally. “He puts the rest of us to shame.”

SONS HAVE A BIT OF FUN

DUMBARTON manager Stephen Aitken (above) yesterday confirmed he was not pulling his boots on again at the age of 40.

The Sons had announced that Aitken was ending a six-year retirement period to help in their relegation fight.

But the story was only an April Fool’s Day prank.

WELCOME TO THE COWSHED

MORTON have agreed to set aside a portion of the covered terracing at Cappielow for away fans.

It follows a request from their own supporters in a bid to create a better atmosphere.

Chief executive Warren Hawke said: “I played in front of the Cowshed back when it was shared by both sets of supporters, and used to get a thrill from the noise and atmosphere it generated.”

WELL, THE NAME’S THE SAME

GOALKEEPER Craig Gordon has joined League 1 East Fife on a short-term deal.

No, not the 34-year-old who kept a clean sheet for Scotland against Slovenia at Hampden last weekend.

The Bayview men have recruited a 22-year-old, once of Queen’s Park, East Stirling and East Kilbride.

And this is April 2!
