Catherine: Hollywood is soft now
CATHERINE Zeta Jones has said she thinks Hollywood has gone soft.
The Oscar-winner said that she had learned some harsh truths from her father-in-law, Kirk Douglas, while she was doing research for her new series, Feud, on the conflict between classic film stars Joan Crawford and Bette Davis.
She said: “They worked really hard. Much harder than actors these days. We don’t have a clue.
“He told me that they used to have to do 17 to 20 movies a year.
“Twenty movies! It’s unthinkable.
“They worked so hard but they existed in a wonderful world and it’s fabulous to get the chance to delve into it now in some small way.”
