Bald Karen mistaken for a man
GUARDIANS Of The Galaxy’s Karen Gillan was mistaken for a man after shaving off her trademark red locks.
The former Dr Who star went bald to play alien Nebula in the Marvel franchise.
But Karen, 29, found people kept getting her gender wrong afterwards.
She said: “Having no hair was an amazing experience. I’m glad I did it.
“People did keep calling me sir, though.
“One time I was laying on a hotel room bed in the dark during the day.
“A man came in to do the turndown service and said, ‘Oh I’m sorry, sir.’
“I was tired and didn’t want to have to explain I was a woman so I put on a deep voice and said, ‘No problem’.
“It was one of the weirdest moments in my life.”
