THE problem of what to do with plastic shopping bags and packaging has always worried environmentalists.

Now a beekeeper may have stumbled on a solution after discovering that the larvae of the greater wax moth munched through plastic when removing them from her nests.

For once being moth-eaten may not be a bad thing!
