In this comedy, Richard Thorncroft is a has-been actor famous in the ’80s for playing the role in Isle of Man detective show Mindhorn, a character with a robotic eye that could “see the truth”.

After insulting both the Isle of Man and fellow cast members on a TV chat show, he decides to leave to make it big in Hollywood.

But 25 years later, he’s balding and out of work, until a real police investigation on the Isle of Man provides what he thinks is the chance of a career revival.
