Most people know her best from her self-titled sitcom, but this documentary traces the actress and comedian’s career from the beginning, looking at her early inspirations – including her idol Eric Morecambe – and her performances at the Edinburgh Festival in the 1990s.

It also explores how her profile rocketed with the success of Miranda and her more dramatic role in Call the Midwife.
