Interim boss doesn’t want any Killie complacenc­y

LEE MCCULLOCH has told his players they are still not safe from the drop and has warned them to take nothing for granted in their final four games after winning this crucial clash.

The interim Kilmarnock boss was delighted with this victory, which took the club to 38 points.

That should be enough to keep them up but McCulloch is too experience­d to switch off.

He wants his players fully focused for next week’s game at home to Dundee and he is looking for the same level of performanc­e next weekend at Rugby Park as he got yesterday.

McCulloch said: “We scored a good goal from a set play that we’ve worked on all week and then we scored a great second goal. We now look ahead to a very important game against Dundee.

“I haven’t looked at the table so I don’t know how much we need to do. It’s still a game at a time and we aren’t out of the woods yet. We have work to do.”

Having been in the play- offs last season, Killie want to avoid that scenario this time and McCulloch has just about managed to do so with some excellent results since he was installed as interim manager in February. They came to Lanarkshir­e knowing they’d need to produce a good performanc­e against Martin Canning’s men.

Accies showed their intent in the third minute when Dougie Imrie fired a powerful right-foot shot across the face of goal and a fingertip from Fred die Wood man deflected it on to his right hand post.

After that, the visitors took a firm grip of proceeding­s and they scored twice in 20 minutes.
