TOM CRUISE has apparently said that a Top Gun sequel is “definitely happening”. Can you refresh my memory of the original? – S.

Paramount Pictures reportedly paid up to $7800 an hour for the use of fighter aircraft.

Studio bosses probably regarded that as a bargain given the stunning aerial footage produced and the $353m worldwide box office bounty.

Anthony Edwards, who starred as Goose, was said to be the only pilot not to throw up while flying in the fighter jets.

He went on to star in ER – along with co-stars Michael Ironside and Rick Rossovich.
