Timothy West and Prunella Scales are canal veterans – they’ve been barging around for half a century.

However, their latest journey is their most ambitious as they set out to explore India’s waterways.

In the first of two programmes, they navigate the backwaters of Kerala, while Scales gets to show off her fancy footwork when she learns the traditional Kerlan dance of the enchantress.
