Jeremy gets rock star reception at festival
JEREMY CORBYN was greeted by crowds of revellers chanting his name at Glastonbury Festival.
The Labour leader addressed the crowd at the main stage at the 900-acre music festival in Pilton, Somerset.
During his speech, which was watched by tens of thousands across the festival site and broadcast live on TV, he called for “a world of human rights, peace, justice and democracy”.
He also commented on the recent election, which saw Prime Minister Theresa May’s majority cut in the House of Commons, following a vote in which the turnout among young people was reported to have increased dramatically.
“The elites got it wrong,” he said.
“The politics that got out of the box is not going back in that box”.
