KENNY ON...

-

I’LL be rooting for the Scotland women’s team at the European Championship Finals.

Anna Signeul (above) and her players have achieved excellent things in recent years, and they took 21 points from eight games in their qualifying campaign.

As they prepare for the start of the Finals next month in host country, Holland, they are in a group with England, Portugal and Spain and that will be really tough.

But they have the talent to do well and I’m sure they will have the self-belief.

It’s in the public domain that there are one or two issues behind the scenes with the SFA that are ongoing and I hope they can be resolved. I’m sure they will be.

It’s important to be focused and the players and coaching staff will want to do great things in the coming few weeks.

They are already role models to tens of thousands of girls and women around the country, and they now have the chance to become national heroes.

It would be fantastic to see them progress in the tournament and a fitting way for Anna to bow out to take up her new job before Shelley Kerr comes in to take over.

They deserve the support of the whole nation in this tournament and they will get it.

Best of luck.
