Holiday option that’s a little quirky, colourful – and just that bit ‘different’

- By Sally Mcdonald

And outside there is a romantic Scandinavian-style hot tub.

Jane says: “I am drawn to colourful vintage items and I find most provoke a nostalgic feeling.

“My husband has found agricultural items on the farm which are always welcome – he even brought home the sheep horns! We love to upcycle.

“The kitchen units were Gumtree purchases which have come up trumps with Annie Sloane chalk paint.

“I like mixing colours and have red window frames, a turquoise painted floor, along with greens and blues.”

She beams: “The Sheep

Shed is a playful, colourful and romantic place to be. I love lazing on the sofa in front of the wood burning range.

“It’s great to snuggle down with a hot chocolate while the fire flickers and look out through the glass gable to the countryside.”

But the experience is even more special at night.

Jane reveals: “We took our two wee boys down to try it out so it was a bit of a squeeze!

“But once they had gone to bed we did get a few hours to appreciate the romance of the place – the candle light and the hot tub.

“It is quite simply heaven sent; a wood fired love tub made just for two.

“Sitting with your favourite person with a glass of wine in hand while the fire crackles under the stars – it’s what dreams are made of!”
