Monica amazed her career has lasted so long
MONICA BELLUCCI has said she never envisioned that her career would last so long.
The actress, who has starred in films such as James Bond flick Spectre and The Matrix Reloaded, said: “I had no idea when I was 25 that at 50 I would still be working.
“It is a great discovery for me.”
The 52- year- old mother of two said she keeps in shape by doing pilates and swimming but said she isn’t someone who gets up at 6am to go to the gym.
Monica, who was an only child, said she would like to have had siblings.
Speaking of her parents she said: “They had me when they were very young and although my mother was maternal, maybe she was too young.
“But she did what she could and she did well.
“I think I missed having a brother or sister.
“That’s why I have two kids, because even though sometimes you can fight, it is better to fight than be lonely.”
Monica has been a single mother since she split from husband of 14 years, Vincent Cassel, in 2013.
However, she described her relationship with her ex as amiable.
She said: “When you have kids it’s important to have a relationship if it’s possible.”
She also said being an older mother allows her freedom to make one film a year and spend the rest of her time with them.
