MILLIONAIRE restaurateur Charan Gill is recovering in hospital after suffering a heart attack.

The 62-year-old attended the A&E ward of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Glasgow on Thursday after experiencing an irritation in his chest.

He said doctors carried out numerous tests before telling him that he had suffered a “mini hear t attack”.

Following the diagnosis Charan posted a video from his hospital bed in which he outlined his gratitude to medics.

He also advised other people to get checked out if they have similar concerns.

He said: “We ignore the warning signs because we don’t tell anyone about them.

“We don’t want to worry our family, friends and loved ones.

“That little irritation in our chest that we felt, that was the warning, that was the signal.

“I could easily have been the guy who copped it all of a sudden.

“But when my body gave me that signal, when I felt that tightness in my chest… I decided I would put that all- important meeting to one side and get myself to hospital.”

The dad of five, who sold his chain of Indian restaurants for £ 8 million, said he had received “fivestar treatment” in hospital.

Speaking of his shock at the diagnosis, he said: “I had a mini heart attack and didn’t even know it.”
