Don’t tell Thrones fan Jerome about the robot squirrel

-

IHEAR a lot of people say they wouldn’t like to live in the world of Game Of Thrones.

And no wonder, you might get murdered at any moment.

But the world of Westeros is actually a bit like logging on to Twitter. There are 144 characters and no one will shut up about politics.

The mighty fantasy TV show has returned to our screens for its seventh series, and the biggest show in the world is showing no signs of running out of steam.

I was at the premiere of the first episode last week and got to meet the cast, including Jerome Flynn.

He plays Bronn in the show but, of course, is best known for being in Soldier Soldier in the ’90s, and as one half of Robson And Jerome.

Jerome was desperate to watch the premiere.

“I’m excited because I’m a Game Of Thrones fan and I’m about to see a new episode! I try not to find out too much from the scripts so I can enjoy my Monday nights,” he told me.

“A gang of us get together and have a Thrones night!

“If I start to spill some spoilers the gang are like: ‘Noooo!’

Gemma Whelan plays tough sailor Yara Greyjoy, and she revealed she thinks the most addictive show on earth isn’t Game Of Thrones…it’s Love Island!

“They think Game Of Thrones has the magic ingredient, but for me it’s Love Island,” she laughed.

“I watched one episode to see what it was about and then I became addicted. It’s awful, yet there I am, invested in these stupid dates they go on.”

Gemma told me how she actually enjoys the fan conventions as she gets to meet the old Doctor Who stars – and she fancies giving the role of the Time Lord a bash after Jodie Whittaker!

Jacob Anderson plays quiet-but-verydeadly soldier Grey Worm.

Of course the cast aren’t allowed to reveal anything about the new series under threat of being thrown to Danaerys’ dragons.

“I just make stuff up,” said Jacob. “I usually tell people there’s a 50ft robot squirrel in this season. And it shoots green darts out of his ears. Spoiler alert!

“People will ask you stuff – but they don’t want to know the answer! As soon as you go to tell them they’re like: ‘No, no, no!’”

I know how you feel, Jacob – every time I try to tell my wife about what I’ve been doing on the telly she tells me to shut up, too!

?? ?? Jerome loves watching Thrones, while Gemma Whelan, left, is a Love Island devotee.
