Same old slip-ups leave troubled

Hamilton’s woes continued with this latest setback at the SuperSeal Stadium.

As if being the victim of a major internet fraud scam wasn’t bad enough, the struggling Lanarkshir­e outfit have now taken only one point from a possible 18 to leave hovering just above the drop zone.

It was like Groundhog Day for manager Martin Canning, who watched through his fingers as basic errors cost his team the goals that lost this game.

Motherwell were the better side, but they were given a helping hand by Accies’ accidents.

To his credit, Canning did not claim that the fraud case had any impact on his players’ performanc­e yesterday.

“I don’t think that affected us at all,” he said.

“We can’t affect that situation.

“All we can do is get on the pitch and work away and the boys put in a lot of effort.

“You hear about teams who find a way to win, but we seem to be finding ways to lose, which is obviously disappoint­ing.”

The visitors took the game by the scruff of the neck and Scotland Under-21 star Ryan Fulton, making his first Premiershi­p appearance for Hamilton, showed his internatio­nal form by diving to his left to claw out a netbound strike from Richard Tait in the second minute.
