Ambitious Lowland League new boys Edusport Academy have revealed they are aiming to reach the Scottish Premiership in just eight years after unveiling a unique new share offer.

And the shareholders will also get the opportunity to choose an entirely new name for the club and redesign their strips.

The club – a residential football academy for young foreign, mostly French players – were only promoted to the Lowland League this season and play their games 85 miles away from their Glasgow base at Annan Athletic’s Galabank ground.

Edusport are Scotland’s newest senior club, having only being founded six years ago.

But they have announced plans to offer 30% of the club to fans who are prepared to pay £50 a share.

And the hugely ambitious outfit have insisted their vision is to “take the team to the Scottish Premiership and beyond by 2025”.

Edusport Academy will also allow those shareholders to decide an entirely new name for the club, if and when they win promotion into League Two.

They will also have a say in designing the strip, allocating budgets and even scouting suitable players.

A statement from the club explained: “It is our vision to take the team to the Scottish Premiership and beyond by 2025 with the help of fan ownership.

“A minimum of 30% of the club will be sold to shareholders at £50 per share.

“That money will be used to fund the aspirations of the club through transfers, wages, facilities and day- to- day operations.

“Our connections across Europe mean we already have access to some of the top young talents, but with your help we can ensure a rapid rise to the top of the Scottish game, and achieve the dream of reaching the Premiership and beyond.

“Our goal is to provide an exciting new way to support a football club.

“By allowing you to become a shareholder with a say in the business, we can offer you the unique opportunity to be a key influence behind the club’s major decisions, and contribute to the success of the club on and off the pitch.”
