You ain’t seen nothing yet, promises Ciftci

Nadir Ciftci has promised Motherwell fans they are yet to see the best of him.

After an unhappy spell out at Plymouth Argyle, Celtic’s Turkish striker made the switch to Fir Park earlier this month, again on loan.

It followed a failed attempt by the Steelmen to land him a year ago and, Ciftci explains, as far as he is concerned, it has been worth the wait.

“I feel this is definitely the right move for me,” he said.

“From day one, I felt the environment was right to get me going and that I could be happy here as I was when I was at Dundee United.

“The people around the club, the manager, the players – they’ve all made me really welcome. “Once I get fully fit, the rest will come for myself. “With not having played that many games, to get two wins in a row gives you a good boost and a good belief in yourself.

“The boys are giving me a lot of confidence, as well as the fans and the manager.

“It comes from within, but the people around you help and I already feel it coming.

“So we’ll see. I want to get fit, give everything I have for the team and the rest will come.

“There are lots of games just now, which is exactly what I want.

“You can train as much as you want, but the game fitness you get from going Wednesday, Saturday, Wednesday, Saturday for the next three weeks is what I’m looking forward to.”

While the 25-year-old didn’t manage to score in the win against Ross County at Fir Park on Wednesday night, he did impress. “I felt really good,” he said. “It wasn’t really the game we wanted to play in midweek, but it was really hard-working and you take the result from that.

“We’re not playing as well as we can, but then the win comes. “The trip to Tenerife helped us a lot. “It gave us a chance to get to know each other and the style of the manager and what he wants from us in games.

“I like the ball played to feet but you have to do what the manager wants and play the way the game is going.

“So the game against Ross County in midweek wasn’t the game we really wished to play.

“But sometimes you just have to take it and deal with it and get the result.”
