Bosses probe management style

Ahead teacher has been suspended from his job after complaints about his management style.

Bryan Kee, who has faced claims of assaulting a child and harassing an ex, faces complaints from colleagues about his “b ra s h” management.

Mr Kee, 44, has been suspended from his £ 77,000- a- year job at Larkhall Academy in South Lanarkshire since September.

The father of five has been the subject of a police probe into allegations of threatening behaviour towards his ex-partner and claims he assaulted a child.

The criminal investigation has now been dropped by the Crown Office on grounds of “insufficient evidence”.

However, an internal probe by his employers, South Lanarkshire Council, continues to look into his conduct.

Sources say the complainants are female teachers who have raised concerns about his management style. It’s the second time he has been removed from duty in the last three years.

In 2011, he left his wife and three children for a colleague at Larkhall Academy in 2011.

The head teacher, who is originally from Enniskillen in County Fermanagh, went on to have two children – now five and one – with Modern Studies and English teacher Linzi Moore, 42.

But in 2016, he found himself in cour t fighting claims he had assaulted a child the year before.

Those claims saw the former English teacher moved from his role at Larkhall Academy to work at the local authority’s education base at its HQ in the County Buildings, Hamilton.

But when he was cleared he returned to his senior school role.

However, his relationship with Linzi soon began to unravel.

Last Valentine’s Day, Linzi walked out on Mr Kee hours after a counselling session to try to save their relationship.

She has moved just 500 yards away from the detached four- bedroom £240,000 family home in Larkhall to live with her mum.

Yesterday, she said: “His behaviour towards me was erratic and very quick- tempered. He is controlling and manipulative.”

Mr Kee did not respond to a number of messages and attempts to contact him.

A South Lanarkshire Council spokesman said: “We cannot comment on personnel matters but can confirm that the head teacher is currently absent from the school and the council has put in place the necessary arrangement to ensure the school continues to be effectively led.”

Independent Larkhall councillor Jackie Burns said: “The matter is in the hands of the education department and everyone concerned wants a swift resolution.”

A source at the Scottish Secondary Teachers’ Association said it was representing two female teachers at Larkhall Academy who had problems with Mr Kee’s teaching regime.

It is understood the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Ser vice received reports about Mr Kee in relation to a domestic incident last year but dropped the case last month over insufficient evidence.

He is still married to first wife Helene. She declined to comment when approached at her home on the outskirts of Barrhead, East Renfrewshire.
