The Glass Pavilion, BrouGhTy Ferry
1 LOCATION
A beautiful, glass-fronted building on the beachfront a two-minute walk from Broughty Ferry Castle, in the pretty Dundee suburb. Nearby there’s a playpark, crazy golf and many boutique shops.

A large, open room with understated nautical details – portholes on the doors, chandeliers and steel reading lights. Classy, but homely.

We were seated quickly and the food was served promptly. The waiting staff were relaxed and unobtrusive but could have showed a little more interest. We waited too long for our sweets (the custard was cold) and too long for the bill.

Nice menu with just enough choice and mixture of dishes from traditional steak pie and sirloin, pizza and pasta to more unusual halloumi kebabs, fajitas and Cullen skink. There are also daytime choices of paninis, sandwiches and home baking.
5 TAsTe
We could smell the food before we got it, and it smelt delicious, which helped whet our appetites. The fresh, sizzling chicken fajitas were served still cooking and the taste was as hot as the skillet. But well worth a try. The sirloin steak with chips and all the trimmings was cooked perfectly and just the right portion size to leave space for sweets. The sticky toffee pudding was a piece of Madeira cake (albeit a scrumptious one!) with sauce all over it. Such a shame about the custard.

Reasonable. Around £40 for three courses for two.

Just a handful of tables occupied, so a quiet atmosphere, perfect for a nice, relaxed evening. Probably busier at lunchtimes or in summer when outdoor tables on the terrace will be in demand.

The perfect people-watching spot – dog walkers, runners, beachcombers and more flock here. Watch the Tay waves roll in or burn off calories with a walk on the blue flag beach.

Fine but could do with a spruce up.

Pleasant venue and nice food. Could be even better with a bit of attention to detail. 14/20
