INCHMILL COTTAGE

-

GLENPROSEN, NEAR KIRRIEMUIR This privately-owned garden is a welcome addition to the Scotland’s Gardens scheme.

The garden is long, sloping and terraced. When its flowers are blooming, it’s a wonderful sight.

About half of the garden is a riot of colour in spring. That’s thanks to the rhododendrons, azaleas, primulas and clematis.

The other half has flowers that bloom later in summer. There are lots of roses and herbaceous plants, as well as a rockery and some great ferns.

The owners have chosen to open on several days between May and September. They have obviously chosen well, as whenever you visit you’ll be in for a treat.

Inchmill isn’t far from Kirriemuir and it’s worth heading there while you’re in the area.

“Kirrie” is a charming wee town, with plenty of pitstops for teas, coffees or something stronger!

For children, the Peter Pan Park on Kirriemuir Hill is a real treat.

You can also head out to stroll in the Angus glens. Highland Perthshire is rightly rated for its fabulous scenery, but Angus can give it a run for its money.

With stunning waterfalls, soaring hills and valleys, you’ll be walking in one of Scotland’s most beautiful areas. Different gardens are open on different days, so check out scotlandsgardens.org for further details.
