Coronation Street

ITV

What are they doing to Corrie? They are spoiling our beloved soap. The storylines are sleazy and it seems to have lost its way. It can still be up to date but without being depressing. It’s no longer family viewing.

- Margaret Massie, via email.

Mum

BBC2

I’m trying to persuade everyone I meet to watch this! What a special sitcom – it manages to be both hilariously funny and achingly heart-wrenching. Lesley Manville and Peter Mullan are absolutely brilliant. - Bill Metcalfe, Manchester.

Zoe Ball’s Hardest Road Home

BBC1

Emotional viewing, to say the least. It tugged at all my heartstrings. Zoe’s an inspiration. Well worth watching – and don’t forget to donate. - L. McDowell,

Kirkintilloch.

The Secret Helpers

BBC2

I didn’t think a TV programme could ever restore my faith in humanity, but this has. Kind strangers who just want to help other people. Uplifting stuff.

- S. Ward, Aberdeen.

Imagine: Andrew Lloyd Webber Memories

BBC1

Full of great little nuggets of information, like Judi Dench being earmarked to star in Cats. An enjoyable tribute. - F. Barley,

Bridge of Allan.
