Partick Thistle have taken the first step towards re- building their squad by signing centre-half Thomas O’Ware.

The 25-year-old made 37 appearances for Morton last season and left the Cappielow club at the end of his contract.

O’Ware has signed on at Firhill for two years and is the first of several new recruits arriving over the next few weeks.

Manager Alan Archibald has seen 19 players leave Thistle following the defeat by Livingston in the Premiership play-off that led to relegation.

O’Ware said: “It is just about focussing on getting back to the Ladbrokes Premiership, that’s the only target we can set. With the manager and the team we’re building, it is definitely achievable.”

Dunfermline club captain Callum Morris has turned down a new contract and quit the club.

Morris has decided to look for a club in England.

The 28- year- old played non- league football with Blyth Spartans and Morpeth Town before moving north of the border to join the Pars in 2012.

He returned to East End Park two years ago after spells at Dundee United and Aberdeen.

Jackson Longridge has left newlypromoted Livingston to sign for Dunfermline and will team up with his brother, Jackson, who’s joined the Fife club after failing to agree a new deal at Falkirk.

While Aberdeen skipper Graeme Shinnie was on duty with Scotland in Mexico, his brother Andrew was busy agreeing a twoyear contract with Luton Town.

The former Rangers and Inverness CT midfielder was on loan at the Hatters f r om Bi r m i n g h a m a s t h e y we re promoted from League Two last season.

He won promotion during a loan at Hibs in 2017 and is targeting a hat-trick of successes next term.

He said: “I think it’s achievable. We have a good squad and if we add a couple more players, we can definitely give it a good shot.”

Former Kilmarnock and Scotland Under-21 defender Callum McFadden is looking for a new club after being freed by National League North side Guiseley.

Rugby Park legend Ray Montgomerie skippered the club to a Scottish Cup victory in 1997 and now has a mountain to climb.

The 57-year-old is off to scale Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for charities including the The Kris Boyd Charity.
