Nendrum can bag a hat-trick

- By Reg Moore SPORT@SUNDAYPOST.COM

Nendrum drops down in grade today for Perth’s twomile handicap hurdle. That may be enough for the nineyear- old to claim his third win of the year.

Sandy Thomson’s runner was just held by Morning With Ivan at the last meeting in a Grade 3. Today, although competitive, looks softer.

The son of Westerner has two Musselburgh victories to his name in 2018, and was raised just 1lb for his second 18 days ago.

Stable conditional Rachel McDonald takes off 5lb and replaces an amateur rider from last time. Nendrum could defy top weight.

Fer gal O’ Brien rarely leaves Perth empty-handed, and Cuddles McGraw has the best credentials in the twoand- a- half mile opening novice hurdle.

Last time, at Towcester four weeks ago, he travelled sweetly through the race, but was novicey when tiring at the last as he lost place chances.

Previously he was highlytried in a Class 2 race at Cheltenham. But it was interesting, in a bustling yard, that he was chosen for that event.

Loud And Clear has had his first run of the season, and should be spot- on for the three- mile handicap hurdle, where the sevenyear-old steps up in trip.

Ian Jardine’s runner put down a fair marker last October, when splitting subsequent winners Otter Moon and Blue Comet, at today’s venue.
