Friend says killer must have lured victim to his death

-

A former business partner of a man brutally murdered in a car park has said his killer must have been insane to commit such a crime.

Steven Donaldson, 27, was found at the Loch Kinnordy nature reserve near Kirriemuir, Angus, on Thursday.

The oil rig worker from Arbroath had driven to the remote spot on Wednesday night, just hours before he was discovered dead by a walker.

Faisal Naseem, 28, had been friends with Mr Donaldson for more than a decade and had run a property business with him.

Last night, he told The Sunday Post he believed his friend had been “lured” to the remote location, before being blugeoned to death with a sharp, heavy weapon. Mr Naseem said: “Whoever has done this is not sane. You can’t be right in the head to commit such an act.

“He has been lured to this place. It’s not like Steven to go somewhere on his own like this.

“He went to meet someone and hasn’t come back.”

Mr Naseem added his friend “wasn’t an aggressive person” and said: “He was always smiling.

“He was very kind and had a good future ahead of him.

“If you had a million pounds to find someone to say something bad about Steven, (you) couldn’t find anyone.

“All of his friends can’t get to grips with what has happened and the thought that he was in pain.”
