stefan expects it tough at wakefield

-

Wakefield will be hunting another prize scalp when Warrington visit the Mobile Rocket Stadium today.

Chris Chester’s men have already beaten the top two teams in Betfred Super League and the third-placed Wolves could be vulnerable coming off the back of a surprise home defeat by Castleford.

Warrington full-back Stefan Ratchford said: “It’s always a tough place to go, whether Wakefield are bottom of the league or halfway up the table as they are now.

“They always make it difficult for teams when they go there. They’re playing well at the moment and they’ve beaten Wigan and Saints.

“We had a slip-up last week against Castleford, so we can’t afford to go there and lose really.

“We’ve got to bounce back from the defeat, but they will be riding high from the victory they had over Wigan.”

Castleford will be aiming for a third-successive win when they host a Hull KR side bolstered by the inclusion of new signing Joel Tomkins, the former dual-code England international who joined them after leaving Wigan under a cloud.

Castleford coach Daryl Powell has experienced duo Jake Webster and Junior Moors available and has to decide whether to stick with the youthful side that won at Warrington.

“That gives me something to think about,” Powell said. “The boys did an outstanding job last week and we are looking for some real consistency.

“Our last two performances were good and we want to repeat that.”
