School’s out...so make the most of summer holidays

-

The summer holidays are here and across the country families are looking for ways to spend the next six weeks, especially that don’t involve sitting in front of a screen.

With the great weather we are having, now’s the ideal time to head for the great outdoors. Scotland has some of the best locations – from mountains to beautiful coastlines and everything in between. There are wildlife and nature parks, boat trips and activity centres where kids young and old can explore and have adventures.

And remember, if you are heading out for an outdoor day trip, remember to items such as suntan lotion and sun hats. This sunny weather is great, but kids especially need to take care not to get burnt. If possible, get waterproof lotion and remember to top it up throughout the day.

Don’t worry if the weather turns a bit colder and wetter, there are hundreds of indoor options.

Science centres, leisure parks, museums and attractions often have great summer deals on offer, so make sure to look around to find something that will entertain the whole family – and even provide a bit of an education as well as entertainment.

Regardless of what you get up to during the summer holidays, remember to get lots of pictures of the fun times so that you can all look back in years to come when the kids are grown up and share fond memories.
