It’s getting muggier as things hot up on the island

-

▼ LOVE ISLAND (ITV2)

She’s had more winches than Kwik Fit but it’s good to see Love Island’s Megan finally settle for someone.

Although by the time you read this, a fresh wandering beefcake might have caught her eye, so who knows?

She’s been branded Muggy Megan by some newspapers, muggy meaning sneaky in Love Island’s unique jargon. It’s a bit unfair though. Towering Geordie casanova Adam was involved with three different girls in 10 days and nobody in the villa raised an eyebrow, although that might have been something to do with all the Botox.

The lads have been held to a different standard than the women when it comes to these things and in that regard Love Island is a bit like real life.

Adam was hero-worshipped by the lads following his bed-hopping exploits, while Megan has endured some of the nicknames we used to fire at women wearing scarlet letters.

One of the Islanders who clashed with Megan was Scottish air hostess Laura.

You can’t help but feel sorry for straight-talking Laura who was first ditched by puppy-like Wes, which left her heartbroken.

She then dumped replacement beau Jack only to change her mind – but he’d moved on. Which also left her heartbroken.

Don’t worry, there’s always the hapless Dr Alex, a man so devoid of sex appeal MI6 might employ him to counter any KGB honey traps.

Perhaps you should enjoy the single life for a bit, Laura.

▼ SHARP OBJECTS (SKY ATLANTIC)

Amy Adams follows Reese Witherspoon (via the brilliant Big Little Lies) in heading to the small screen in this classy, moody thriller.

The Southern Gothic murder plot ticks all the boxes, but Amy’s unstable Camille is hypnotic.

Next episode, please!
