Tony Richardson is relieved a frustratin­g lost luggage drama is finally over – thanks to Raw Deal. Early last month, Tony returned to Manchester Airport on a Jet2 flight after a short break in Alicante, Spain, and discovered his case was missing. If that wasn’t annoying enough, for weeks afterwards he felt he was getting nowhere when he tried to gain confirmati­on that his luggage had been lost. “Eventually Jet2 called back to say my luggage couldn’t be found and they believed it may have been stolen,” said Tony, from Wythenshaw­e, Manchester. He then decided to lodge a claim through his holiday insurance because Jet2 had a limit on the amount they would pay in compensati­on. “But then both the airline and the tracking company said they could not declare the case as being missing until 21 days after it was reported,” said Tony. “After numerous phone calls I finally got a property irregulari­ty report from Jet2 but then my insurance company said they could not deal with my claim because I also needed a letter confirming that my case was lost.” At the end of his tether, Tony wrote to Raw Deal. We contacted Jet2 on his behalf and asked the firm to investigat­e. The good news is that within days Tony got the required confirmati­on letter – plus a £100 voucher towards his next Jet2 flight. A Jet2 spokeswoma­n said: “Our team has confirmed that the issue has been dealt with and that the customer is now happy.”
