-

WHENEVER you choose to visit Ayrshire and Arran, you will not be disappointed.

There is so much to see and do, with country parks to visit, gorgeous sandy shores to explore and delicious food to sample.

Ayrshire and Arran is the perfect destination to escape to for a few days, with many welcoming hotels and B&Bs.

You’ll be following in the footsteps of our national bard. Discover more about Burns Country at the region’s museums.

Ayrshire’s coastal towns are a big draw. Why not relive childhood holidays spent in Troon, Ayr or Girvan? Or plan a day trip to Irvine, Largs or Prestwick?

Did you know that Ayrshire is regarded as “Scotland’s authentic food tourism destination”?

It’s not hard to see why, as it is home to a number of taverns, bars, bistros and award-winning restaurants.

If posh nosh is not your bag, then there are some quality fish and chip shops.

And it’s not just food. The region is home to distilleries, breweries and microbreweries, so make sure you book your tour and tasting.

From Ardrossan, take the ferry across to Arran, one of the most beautiful and dramatic islands in Europe. Try climbing Goat Fell, and keep an eye out for wildlife – will you spot the Brodick Bay seals?

Affectionately known as “Scotland in miniature”, Arran is home to ancient monuments and a distillery, and if history is your passion, you must visit Brodick and Lochranza castles.

What’s more, with its fair share of championship courses, Ayrshire & Arran is a haven for golfers.
