Falkirk 0 Queen of the south 3 Dobbie (11, 39, 75)

Queen of the South boss Gary Naysmith hailed his own players and also home goalkeeper Leo Fasan following a staggeringly one-sided encounter at Falkirk Stadium yesterday. The visitors easily claimed their first league win of the season thanks to yet another hat-trick from their talismanic striker Stephen Dobbie, but Fasan’s heroics prevented even greater embarrassment for the humiliated Bairns. “Their goalie was absolutely outstanding,” said Naysmith. “Some of his saves were different class and he stopped us getting at least another five goals. “In fact, that could have been 10 today. “I think that’s the best 90 minutes I’ve seen since I came to the club in December 2016. “It was a joy to stand and watch them. “Sometimes you get a dip in the second half, but that didn’t happen today and we actually created even more chances in the second period. “Money doesn’t matter to Stephen and I’m the manager that’s lucky enough to have him in my team. “He’s 35 now, but he looks as though he could play until he’s 38. “We know from pre-season tests that he’s still the quickest player in the team.” Following a third straight league defeat, Falkirk manager Paul Hartley admitted: “It’s very disappointing, a really poor performance from us. “The scoreline could have been even worse had it not been for our goalkeeper. “We know Dobbie is the best striker in the division, but we didn’t get close enough to him. “You don’t see that performance coming after the way we’ve trained this week. “It’s alarming and it’s something that we can’t accept here. We’ve brought a lot of new players in from different teams to try something different, but people are not patient. “We just have to get back to working hard again on Monday.”
