Please help me make millions ...no, seriously!

if I’m not on the box enough – but at least this time it’s for a good cause!

This week I’m heading back to the UK for a telly special.

I’m going to be co-hosting the STV Children’s Appeal: Live With Lorraine on Friday from 8pm.

Me and my old pal Lorraine are going to be celebrating another fantastic year of fundraising for Scotland’s children.

It’ll be a live broadcast, which is something I’m not used to doing at that time on a Friday night. I’m usually on to my second sweet sherry by that stage.

Although we’ll be broadcasting live from Glasgow, Lorraine and I will be joined live by STV colleagues in Aberdeen, Dundee and Inverness.

It’ll be a bit like a Scottish Eurovision Song Contest – I wonder if we could do a Scottish Inter-City Sing-Off next year?

People donating money so I stop singing would surely raise millions.

The STV Children’s Appeal is a great cause, though.

It was launched in 2011 in partnership with The Hunter Foundation, with the help of Sir Tom and Lady Marion Hunter.

It’s a cause I love as it helps those in Scotland who need it most.

One in four children and young people live in poverty in Scotland, affecting more than 220,000 people.

The STV Children’s Appeal works with Scotland’s leading experts in the field of child poverty, and both small community groups and national charities.

It does really practical things like providing food and warm clothes, training and employability, and social and emotional support.

As well as our show at the end of the week, weatherman Sean Batty jetted off to Shetland for a Tunnock’s Tea Party to join fundraisers for tea parties and other fun events in aid of the Appeal.

Flying around the country for Caramel Wafers?

Sounds like the gig I should have asked my agent to sort out!

Meanwhile, record-breaking cyclist Mark Beaumont has been joined by 80 brave cyclists for a gruelling 240-mile, coast-to-coast challenge, crossing Scotland in 24 hours.

Sounds like the gig I should thank my agent for not putting me forward for…

In just seven years, the appeal has raised an incredible £16.3 million.

Please tune in – it’s going to be a great show, and we’re going to reveal the total money raised on the night.
