Rare golf treasure
One of the world’s oldest golf score cards – dated May 4 1822 – is expected to fetch up to £4,000 when it is auctioned at Bonhams in Edinburgh later this month. The framed card shows that a Mr Logan played the five holes within the Musselburgh Race Track twice on that day. The tally, in black ink, shows he completed the ten holes in 104 strokes to win the Leith Thistle Golf Club gold medal. The rare memorabilia was once owned by late golfing legend Sir Henry Cotton.
