High school student Venus “Vee” Delmonico is preparing to turn down her place at California Institute of the Arts as it would upset her mother Nancy (Juliette Lewis). This infuriates best friend Sydney, who is an avid participant of an online game of daredevil challenges called Nerve. She goads Vee into signing up as a player.
