Always look at the label
I travel a lot and have become much more careful about what I eat when I’m out and about. I’ll be even more cautious after reading that around 8% of meat tested in Scotland last year was found to contain the DNA of an animal not listed on the labelling. It made me think about how rarely we check what’s in something before we buy it, stick it in the oven and eat it. That’s why when I’m travelling, I tend to stick to vegetarian or fish dishes – but I think I’ll be looking carefully at the back of food packaging before I buy now.
