Tiger mauls keeper

A white tiger has mauled and killed a zookeeper in its enclosure in southern Japan. Police said: “A zookeeper was found collapsed in a cage, bleeding.” The man, 40, was taken to hospital but was dead on arrival. The attack happened at the Hirakawa Zoological Park in Kagoshima. It is not yet clear what happened to the tiger after it was sedated by a dart-gun. Straits Times
