Tell my son I miss him

-

Dear June

I lost my beautiful son two months ago.

Every day is hard without him and at times I feel so broken that I don’t want to carry on, but I have my daughter and grandchildren to think of as they need me.

Please tell him I love and miss him every minute of every day.

The loss of any child at any age seems very unnatural to me and always has.

I feel for any parent who has to endure such a loss.

As a grieving mum, not wanting to carry on without your boy is normal.

In time, you will slowly adapt to life without him in the physical world. Knowing he is safely over on spirit side and one day you will see him again will help to ease your pain.

I sense your son passed unexpectedly and this will leave you with a lack of closure.

Try to think of your loss in a different way. Imagine your beautiful son has gone on a long holiday and one day you will join him.

Although you cannot see him, he is very close and will make himself known to family each time the conditions and energy allow him.

Look for signs like smells, special songs played on the radio on days like family birthdays or anniversaries, and also electric equipment switching off or on by itself (including lightbulbs fusing in succession).

He knows how much he is missed and he can feel the love you send to him each day.

Dear June

Our family is beside itself with grief after we lost our Burmese cat a few weeks ago.

We had him for just over 22 years and he was such a character. He didn’t take to everyone but was loving with the family.

We have a few relations on the other side who we hope will be looking after him. Will he be there to greet us, too? Lesley, email

June Says

Loving pets are very much a part of the family and we grieve for them in the same way we do after the loss of a relative.

There is always such a huge void within a home after the loss of a beloved pet (especially if he had been a part of your family for 22 years).

Your beautiful cat looked to you as family and spent his whole life with you all.

He will, of course, be met by other family and be welcomed into the fold.

I have no doubts whatsoever he will be one of the first in the queue to greet you and your family on spirit side.
