Richard Ashcroft, Sigrid and Sundara Karma were also in the line-up on the second day of Scotland’s biggest music festival.

Organisers DF concerts announced on Friday that T in the Park – previously Scotland’s biggest music festival – will not return.

DF boss Geoff Ellis said: “It’s all about TRNSMT for us now”.

Around 50,000 music fans were at Glasgow Green last night for TRNSMT which revellers made a sea of neon and bucket hats.

Stalls outside the gates offered flags, whistles and a touch of glitter.

A new addition to the festival this year is the Queen Tut’s Stage, which showcases rising femaleled acts on a separate stage.

Performers have said it is an important step to increase numbers of women on festival bills and the music industry as a whole.

The event kicked off on Friday with performances from Mabel, Years And Years, Gerry Cinnamon and headliner Stormzy.

Fans of the London rapper feared he might not make it as his flight was delayed for two hours on Friday.

But he arrived in time to perform after his car was given a police escort to Glasgow Green.

He posted a video on social media of police motorcycles, joking that he is “going up in the world” and like “the Queen”.

The final day of the festival sees George Ezra, Lewis Capaldi and Emeli Sande take to the main stage.

Snow Patrol and Jess Glynne were in the original line-up but pulled out to be replaced by Capaldi and Sande.

The weather is expected to be bright and sunny tomorrow. Festival-goers have been advised to take sun cream and stay hydrated as temperatures could reach 23C (73.4F).
