League leaders BONNYRIGG ROSE remain top but they suffered their first defeat of the season as they went down 3-1 to BSC GLASGOW. BSC got a dream start with two goals in the first 27 minutes through Robbie McNab and Thomas Collins. Four minutes after the restart, Rose found themselves 3-0 down when Collins curled his shot into the net. Rose got one back when Lewis Turner fired home from 15 yards. SPARTANS moved up to fifth spot with a narrow 2-1 win over CIVIL SERVICE STROLLERS. Blair Atkinson put Spartans into the lead on 19 minutes and, three minutes before the interval, Adam Corbett headed in a corner. Josh Morris pulled one back for Strollers three minutes into stoppage time. DALBEATTIE STAR won the local derby match against GRETNA 2008 4-2 thanks to a hat-trick from Steven Degnan which included two penalties in the first half. He got the first in seven minutes and the second in the 23rd, but Gretna fought back after the interval and levelled through Jack Dickinson and Dean Makunike. Star bounced back and Degnan completed his treble on 57 minutes and sub Phil Middlemiss headed in No. 4. EDINBURGH UNI fought back for a 1-1 draw against STIRLING UNI, who led on 23 minutes with an Angus Mailer goal. Just after the restart, Mark Waters equalised. BERWICK RANGERS struggled to a 2-2 draw against GALA FAIRYDEAN ROVERS. They led with an early Daryl Healy goal, but gave away two penalties midway through and Scott Taylor Mackenzie scored with both in the 19th and 29th minutes. Then Healy got his second goal for a draw. CALEDONIAN BRAVES chalked up their fifth win with a 3-0 victory over struggling VALE OF LEITHEN, who have lost all eight games. Marc Kelly was the Braves hero with all three goals, two in the first half in the space of two minutes just before the interval and the third in the 64th minute. Champions EAST KILBRIDE were held to a 2-2 draw on Friday by CUMBERNAULD COLTS and it was only an 86th-minute goal from Ruari Paton that saved the day. Craig Murray put Colts ahead on 20 minutes, but David Brownlie levelled in the 40th minute only to see Stephen O’Neil give Colts a 2-1 interval lead. Colts went down to 10 men in the 81st minute when Arnault Bembo was red-carded and they took advantage soon after with Paton’s equaliser.
