Singer: I sold my £200k Ferrari to pay for wedding
Amy Macdonald has put a price on her love for footballer Richard Foster – £200,000.
The This Is The Life singer sold a prized Ferrari to pay for the couple’s lavish wedding, she revealed.
Macdonald and Foster were joined by dozens of family and friends when they got married in Las Vegas last year.
Their honeymoon was a road trip across the US, taking in Yosemite National Park.
The 31-year-old chart-topping petrolhead said she has bought 30 cars since passing her test at 17, but has given many of them away.
But one of the hardest to part with was her Ferrari 488 GTB, which has a top speed of 205mph.
The singer, who still owns a yellow Ferrari 458 Speciale, said: “This is a bit of a collectors’ item now. Usually I don’t [keep them that long], but I have had this for four years because it is the last Ferrari they ever made without turbo.
“I had a Ferrari 488 as well, but I sold that to pay for my wedding.”
The car, which does 24 miles to the gallon, was handbuilt as part of a limited edition at the company’s Italian headquarters near Modena, where she collected it in 2016.
Since passing her test, Amy has owned a red and white Mini Cooper; a Nissan GT-R; a Bentley Continental; a Ferrari 458 Italia; and a Bentley V8 Bentayga, the fastest diesel SUV in the world, among others.
Amy’s love of fast cars has proven to be a shrewd investment – the Ferrari 458 cost £170,000 and she could sell it for the same amount.
Macdonald, from Bishopbriggs, near Glasgow, can afford it, with a fortune of over £7 million, having sold more than 12 millions records.
Now she is settled in a luxury £1m Milngavie mansion with the ex-Ibrox star.
