Angela Cowan, 62, from Bearsden, East Dunbartonshire, works as a support for learning assistant at a primary school. She has been married to Alan for 42 years and has three children. She loves going on holiday and spending time with her adorable granddaughter Sofia. Here, Angela shares some favourite snaps from the family album...

Wedding selfies

This is a lovely family pic taken at my son Neil’s wedding to the lovely Laura last year. Alan’s also in the photo, as is my daughter Laura, her husband Fraser, and my cute-as-a-button granddaughter, Sofia. It was the most wonderful day. Sofia was the flower girl and walked down the aisle, which just melted everyone’s hearts.

My darling Sofia

Here’s me and little Sofia. I absolutely love being a gran and Sofia, who is two, is a joy. I look after her a couple of afternoons a week and we have a great time. We go to the park and bake cakes and she sometimes even helps me clean the house. I know I’m biased but she’s just the perfect child! With three children, I’m hopeful there will be many more grandchildren to come in the future!

Auntie antics

I come from a large Italian family, with six siblings and life can get so busy that it’s a struggle to get everyone together, so every year we organise an “aunties and cousins” weekend with my sisters and our daughters. This is us enjoying this year’s antics at Duchally lodges, Gleneagles. It’s always a fun weekend with lots of laughing, spending time in the spa and, of course, cheers-ing each other with the odd glass of wine!

Holidays with hubby

I love travelling with Alan. This photo was taken in Vancouver recently. We were visiting our daughter, Anna, who is studying there. It was a great holiday and so good to see Anna, who absolutely loves living there – although I do miss her a lot! We’ve also been to Portugal for a big family holiday and Turkey this year. It’s so nice to get away from it all and spend time with your favourite people.
