Scott: Hibees happy again
Scott Allan last night hailed Jack Ross for bringing happiness back to Hibs.
Ross’s first game in charge at Easter Road ended in victory over Motherwell – thanks in no small part to Allan’s game-changing vision.
And the Hibees star revealed Ross’ light-hearted approach has restored the feelgood factor in Leith.
“He’s been really positive,” said Allan of his new manager. “His man-management skills with myself, and other players, have been really good.
“There’s been a lot of camaraderie around the camp this week, which has been really good.
“It allows you to go and express yourself and I think a lot of players showed that today.
“Does the camaraderie help? It’s just positivity – you can’t buy it.
“It depends on certain personalities and the manager and his assistant, John Potter, have been really good for us.
“The assistant is a real livewire, really funny, and that helps.”
Ross kept the faith with the strike partnership of Christian Doidge and Florian Kamberi that did so much damage against St Johnstone before the international break. For Allan, it’s a system that works like a dream.
“Previously I was playing off the front myself as a striker,” he said.
“So when you were receiving the ball, there wasn’t that pass you could play instinctively.
“But with two up top and the full-backs getting down the wings, it’s quite easy to receive the ball and pick a pass without needing to think about it.
“But it’s not just about me.
“There are lots of players in the team who can chip in.
“Flo Kamberi and Christian Doidge have been massive for us in the last two games.”
Meanwhile, Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson bemoaned his side’s decision-making.
“We controlled large amounts of the game and dominated large periods of it but football’s about what you do in both boxes,” he said.
“We had lots of good play up until the last third, then our decision making, hitting the front man, not finishing off chances was a factor.
“Our final decisions weren’t good enough. You have to give credit to Hibs as well.
“They punished us.”
