Work hard, play hard, glam hard! Get the look in double-quick time

-

Christmas season calls for dazzling dresses, elegant up-dos and make-up that will make us sparkle and shine at the office party – but between shopping for presents and organising family events, it can be hard to find the time to get glam.

Here, make-up artist Bridget shares her top tips for getting ready in a flash.

Prime time

According to Bridget, nailing your party look starts with applying the perfect primer, ensuring your foundation lasts all day long.

She said: “One step you should never miss is applying a primer – it’s super-quick to apply, blurs imperfections, such as large pores and lines, and will ensure your make-up lasts all day. It’s ideal for busy women who don’t have the time for touch-ups.

“My favourite is Murad’s Invisiblur (£65) which doubles up as a primer and suncream. Genius.”

Seeing double

Bridget explained: “If you’re stretched for time, look for products that can be used for more than one area. Lip tints can double up as blusher, and creamy blushers can be used on your lips.

“Additionally, look for mascaras that lengthen and curl, as well as compacts which have a highlighter and bronzer in one, which you can take with you on the go.

“Lip liners can be used as a matte lipstick, too.The product won’t move and you don’t have to do any more than simply line and fill.”

Bedtime routine

We all know the benefit of getting our beauty rest, but Bridget says we can use our 40 winks to do a little more than rest and recharge.

She said: “Apply fake tan over your moisturiser before you go to bed – you’ll wake up with a healthy glow and require much less makeup, too. I like to use The Organic Pharmacy Self Tan (£38).”

Eyes on the prize

“I always wear semi-permanent lashes or at least an eyelash tint, explained Bridget.

“Not only does it makes you look instantly more awake, it also removes a step from your daily make-up routine. I also keep brightening eyedrops on hand to get rid of any redness.”

Spritz and spray

If your skin needs a bit of a boost after a long day in the office, Bridget recommends using a hydrating spray to refresh your complexion.

She said: “Hydrating face sprays are a great choice to give you a quick boost on the go, especially if you’ve been unable to do your usual skin care routine. I love the Hydrating Face Spray from Sond Skincare (£24) for an all-day dewy glow that prevents skin from drying out.” Visit blushandblowlondon.com
