- EDITOR, JAYNE SAVVA JSAVVA@DCTMEDIA.CO.UK

Welcome to our Christmas issue! We have packed it full of all the best TV and radio, food and fashion to get you in the swing. Whether you are keeping it casual at home or going all-out glam, P.S. style expert Wendy Rigg has Christmas Day covered on pages 8,9,10&11.

And to toast just how wonderful you’ll look, we have chosen the best bubbles to see you through, from brunch to dinner (page 15).

Hopefully, all your presents are already wrapped so you can now get down to the serious business of planning your festive viewing.

There’s a sackful of telly treats coming your way. Our seven-day listings will keep you right, and we’ve picked the mustsee shows, from creepy ghost stories, including a brand new A Christmas Carol adaptation starring Hollywood’s Guy Pearce (pages 22 & 23) to a comedy comeback from the brilliant Gavin And

Stacey. Read our interview with writer Ruth Jones on pages 26&27.

We’ve also had a sneak peek at what Yuletide drama is unfolding on your favourite soaps (pages 24&25).

The Call The Midwife Christmas special has become a much-loved part of the festive schedules and this year sees the midwives, above, swap Poplar for the Scottish isles. We caught up with star of the show, Laura Main, as she prepared for Christmas in her home town of Aberdeen.

On pages 6&7, she tells us: “I’ve seen the episode already and the islands look beautiful – it takes your breath away.”

We can’t wait to tune in, cosying up on the sofa, with a Baileys in hand, of course.

We hope you enjoy the issue – Merry Christmas from all the P.S. team!
