Blue Intothe

Denim is having a moment, and yes, double denim is back! This classic staple is a must-have in your spring wardrobe

-

On the international runways, the blues were popular with designers such as Givenchy and Celine. At the former it was faded upcycled denim with a ’90s feel, while Celine showed classic looks reminiscent of Parisienne style from the ’70s.

It’s a yes to double denim, and flares or bootcuts are back in style. Shirt dresses and skirts got the denim treatment, too, so take your pick.

The trick with jeans is not to follow trends. Stick with what flatters you and, if that happens to be the shape du jour, then well and good. Take the time to try on lots of different styles in a department store such as John Lewis with a great selection, and find your perfect pair. Look for good-quality denim, with a bit of stretch, which is best for comfort and fit.

Denim production is damaging for the environment, so check the credentials of the company you are buying from. Several brands make planet-friendly jeans, such as People Tree, Reformation, G Star Raw, DL1961 and Levis.
