MP’s vow on police powers

Police forces are “open and willing to learn”, a government minister has said in response to the Metropolitan Police voluntarily referring itself to a watchdog over a stop and search involving black athlete Bianca Williams.

Crime and policing minister Kit Malthouse said police must have “processes and transparency” to learn from mistakes.
