New age-exclusive development suits buyers to a tea

-

Anew development aimed at baby boomer buyers has launched its stylish show apartment in the village of Glenfarg in Kinross. To celebrate, it’s treating the first 20 visitors to afternoon tea for two at the artisan family farmhouse café, Loch Leven’s Larder.

Created by Glenfarg Homes, the purpose-built age-exclusive housing development has been designed to appeal to the 50-plus generation of homeowners seeking a particular lifestyle and is surrounded by a staggering 44 golf courses. From its unique location to the high specification of the properties, careful consideration has been given to create this niche apartment development.

The show apartment is now open daily for viewing by appointment from 10am until 5pm by contacting 0141 212 4907. From Saturday, August 1, the first 20 visitors to the show apartment will be treated to afternoon tea for two at the nearby Loch Leven’s Larder just 10 minutes from the

historic town of Kinross, at a convenient date and time.

Buyers can also take advantage of the Scottish Government’s recent announcement on the reduction of the Land and Buildings Transaction Tax (LBTT), raising the threshold for when you pay from £145,000 to £250,000. This could save buyers thousands of pounds and reduce the cost of moving home.

Colin Docherty of Glenfarg Homes said, “Lockdown has made us all reassess our living spaces and we believe that age-exclusive developments will become even more popular as people not only look to downsize, but also yearn for environments that are as safe as possible and convenient to local amenities.

“Glenfarg embodies the true meaning of community spirt with an active and inclusive neighbourhood

enabling people to enjoy independent living but be part of a supportive community. Access to the outdoors is also very important to this age group who value their leisure time.”

Located on the main village thoroughfare, the development features a collection of 12 two-bedroom apartments (in a choice of four different designs) and one threebedroom cottage, within attractive landscaped grounds.

The apartments include an open-plan lounge and kitchen/diner, complete with floor-to-ceiling feature windows and spacious balconies. The master bedroom features an en suite and fitted wardrobes, with some apartments including a dressing area. A practical utility room is also included,

alongside a spacious walk-in storage cupboard in the hallway.

Buyers can create their own bespoke bathroom and kitchen by selecting from of a choice of modern, traditional or shaker style kitchen cabinets, and contemporary ceramic tiling from design studio Ashley Ann in the bathroom.

Each property benefits from future proof design features such as electronically operated underground car parking, with bike storage, electric charge points for eco-friendly cars and lift access. Enhanced acoustic, thermal insulation and triple glazing have been installed to ensure low running costs and ease of maintenance.

Glenfarg Homes has also installed a unique off-grid gas supply to the development, as there is no gas supply in the village, and solar panels to the roof. Prices for the apartments start from £227,000.
