Woman gets cold shoulder

-

Heather Syme is looking forward to having a cosy home again after waiting months to get a problem with her heating sorted.

Heather, from Burnside, Glasgow, had Heatstore electric radiators installed in her lounge and bedrooms in March 2020 but as winter approached she noticed that the one in her living room would not go on and off at the times she wanted.

“When an engineer from Heatstore visited last October he told me he thought that the timer switch was faulty and that he would arrange for the radiator to be replaced,” she said.

“The heater did actually continue to provide heat intermittently, however, it did not come on at the times that I had set up. Therefore, it was still faulty and it still required to be repaired or replaced.

“I thought that this would not be a problem as it was under a two-year warranty.”

However, when weeks and them months drifted by with no sign of a replacement, Heather wrote to Raw Deal.

We contacted Heatstore and the good news is that within a few days the company had arranged to have a new radiator couriered to Heather and an engineer came out to fit it.

Heatstore said: “On review, this would appear to have escalated due to a communication issue between ourselves and our warranty service partner, which we have resolved.”

Heather said: “Thank you Raw Deal for all your help in resolving my six-month radiator dilemma. It is such marvellous work that you do to help people overcome similar difficult situations in their lives.”
