HOW THEY PLAYED

- By Brian Fowlie

CRAIG GORDON (7)

Had little chance with the goals he conceded and came up with a decent save to keep his side level at 2-2.

SCOTT MCTOMINAY (7)

The debate about whether or not he is a defender was not settled. Should have been sharper at times, but the late, late hero.

JACK HENDRY (7)

Scotland really needed a dominating centreback and Hendry didn’t perform that role often enough.

KIERAN TIERNEY (8)

Crosses weren’t always precise. Gave a trademark display of all-out commitment.

NATHAN PATTERSON (7)

Looked hesitant and nervous during the first half, but got INTO the game after the break

JOHN MCGINN (7)

A man happy to notch scruffy goals – this time he came up with a beauty of a curling shot this time.

BILLY GILMOUR (7)

Didn’t make the impact that was hoped for before the break but showed what he was all about as Scotland upped the tempo. (LIAM COOPER 93, 5).

CALLUM MCGREGOR (6)

Never stopped moving and looking for the ball without having a great deal of influence.

ANDY ROBERTSON (8)

Drove his men forward at the right time and created two goals.

CHE ADAMS (7)

Showed his technical ability with an instinctive one-two that set up Scotland’s opener. (RYAN CHRISTIE 68, 6. Lots of movement to try and grab a winner.)

LYNDON DYKES (7)

Needed to pick a corner and smash his penalty kick towards it. Great aggression for his goal but should have had a hat-trick by burying a header. Unused subs — Kelly (Gk), McLaughlin (Gk), McKenna, McLean, Fraser, Nisbet, Turnbull, Armstrong, Ferguson.

ISRAEL:

(3-4-2-1) Marciano 7; Abu Abaid 6, Bitton 6, Arad 6 (Kinda 74, 5); Dasa 7, Peretz 6, Natcho 6 (Glazer 66, 6), Menachem 7 (Davidzada 87, 5); Dabbur 8 (Weissman 66, 6), Solomon 7; Zahavi 8. Unused subs — Peretz (Gk), Gotlieb, Cohen, Shamir, Podgoreanu, Abada, Abu Hanna, Nitzan (Gk).
